Dominic Paul is a singer-songwriter from Kerry whose debut album SAIL has arrived in port.He has a pleasantly musical voice. With its soft folk rock backing "It's So Sad" becomes a jaunty offering that will give much pleasure and does little harm."Kick Out Of You" has more bite, and comes at you with appealing chiming guitar and Hammond-ish keyboards."What's On Your Mind",to which Tony O'Flaherty adds his tasty sax,is in the same vain. There's nothing wrong with anything Dominic does.

Dominic Paul is an Irish singer-songwriter, based in County Kerry and playing shows throughout his homeland and beyond. His sound is contemporary folk, with stylistic hints of very successful artists like Damien Rice and David Gray, but without sounding either derivative or hackneyed. Indeed, there's a sparkle to what he does that feels both fresh and original, and can't help but bring a smile to the face.
His songs, though often with titles that sound like other songs ("Kick Out Of You", "Here Comes The Rain", "These Days", etc.) are full of ideas and lyrical flights that are never showy or forced, but tell their tales honestly and with little deviation. Paul's a straight-talker, whether documenting a break-up ("It's So Sad"), telling it like it is on "Don't You Disappoint" or asking the same of others on the Van Morrison(esque) "What's On Your Mind"
Fans of any of the above mentioned artists would do well to give Dominic Paul a listen.
